The Perfect Dive Course Package – Advanced Open Water + Nitrox
The more I think about ‘ The Perfect Dive Course Package’ the better I like it!
That said I can’t remember ever having taught it in my many years as a dive instructor. Now I come to think about it, it is not a package that is generally promoted by the diving industry. So let me explain my thinking with regard to linking these two courses.Book My Perfect Package!
The Advanced course consists of five open water dives. Any or even all of these dives can be credited towards the relevant specialty course. For example: you must do a deep dive during the Advanced course, but this dive can be credited towards the Deep Diver Specialty course. This is because the performance objectives of the first dive of a Specialty course are the same as the performance objectives for the relevant dive of the Advanced course, and who wants or needs to do the same thing twice? This is one of the really neat pluses of the PADI system of continuing your diver training.
The Nitrox or Enriched Air course is a no dive specialty course. When I first started instructing, this course was a two dive course. However, since there were no in water performance objectives, PADI decided that the dives were not necessary to achieve the goal of teaching divers to use Nitrox safely. While I absolutely agree with this, when I teach Nitrox these days I always include the two dives- come on guys – who buys a new toy and then doesn’t want to play with it? However, if you decide to go for the perfect package this is where the options become very interesting – if a little complicated!
You could decide to do the standard five dive Advanced course and then simply do the academic side of the Nitrox course and gain the two certifications at an advantageous price. You could do the Advanced, the Nitrox and decide to do one or two Nitrox dives – this would still be cheaper than doing them separately since I would automatically give you a discount for doing two courses back to back.
If your schedule doesn’t stretch to that you could complete the academic portion of the Nitrox course and then do one of the five dives of the Advanced course on Nitrox – that way you still gain the two certifications at a reduced cost, but only have to do four Advanced course knowledge reviews!
So whatever option you choose, it sounds like a win-win situation to me! If you are interested in taking advantage of this package contact me here. Let me know what kind of structure you want your package to have and I will put together a reasonable price for it!
During 2016 the sea has washed away some of the sand from the lower parts of the beach. This has uncovered some of the rocks below and has made the beach more difficult to cross in bare feet. So I strongly advise participants to bring a pair of flip flops to wear into the water until we are up to our chests. You can then float, take of your flip flops and put on your fins.
