Introduction to Scuba Diving – how it worksBook My Intro Dive!
This Introduction to Scuba Diving not a PADI program. It is a quick, easy, and economical program to get you diving for the first time. It is a ‘slim’ version of PADI’s Discover Scuba Diving. You will be taught some skills, but not as many as in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience. That is why I can offer this at a reduced price. But your safety is still my first priority followed very closely by the fun!
This is your chance to breathe underwater and go for your very first dive with the help of a professional diver! The first thing we do is assemble your equipment and explain how it works. After a briefing, so that you fully understand what you are about to do, we start the dive in very shallow water. Here you will learn a few scuba diving skills. It also gives you time to get used to the equipment and the sensation of breathing under water. Then we go for your dive!!
You need to be reasonably fit and healthy to undertake this program, so please check out the medical form below. Make sure that you can answer ‘No’ to all the questions on the first page. If you need to answer ‘Yes’ to any of the questions, print out the form, and seek the advice of your doctor. If he declares you fit to dive, please get him or her to fill out the form and then bring it with you when you visit.Medical Statement PDF
We normally visit the reef at Salang Bay South because it is ideal for your first adventure. We swim above the sand, so that you cannot hurt yourself or damage the environment, but close enough to see all that the reef has to offer. There you will see an amazing variety of corals, large and small, hard and soft. The reef is inhabited by an equally amazing variety of fish, from the tiny iridescent blue of the Cleaner Wrasse to the magnificent Bump Head Parrot Fish, and if you are extremely lucky you might see one of the local turtles!!
During 2016 the sea has washed away some of the sand from the lower parts of the beach. This has uncovered some of the rocks below and has made the beach more difficult to cross in bare feet. So I strongly advise participants to bring a pair of flip flops to wear into the water until we are up to our chests. You can then float, take of your flip flops and put on your fins.
This is not the first part of the Open Water Course. If you decide that you want to continue then of course you can. The full cost can be deducted from the price of the course, given that the appropriate PADI requirements have been met.
